Adage Graphics Selects DURST as New Eco-Friendly Printer, Price Cutter

El Segundo, California (PRWEB) March 16, 2009

Large format digital printing company Adage Graphics in El Segundo, California announces its recent acquisition of the DURST Rho 600 Pictor printer. President and Founder, Larry Christian and key members of the Adage Graphics production team examined the direct printer as it was up and running before purchasing. After being in the market for a Flatbed UV Print-Direct imaging system for approximately three years, the Austrian-manufactured DURST won the order. The economic downturn caused a close examination of current products offered by Adage. “We want to be able to offer our customers more options, including the ability to print more types of products for less money,” stated Christian.

Considered to be the ‘silk-screening equivalent’ of the digital printing industry, the UV cure direct print inkjet can produce images directly onto nearly any kind of flat surface with zero dry-time. The DURST is capable of imaging a wide range of uncoated and coated materials – also textured surfaces such as hard foam sheets, soft foam sheets, aluminum, acrylic, glass, polycarbonate, MDO, wood, cardboard, biodegradable board, ceiling tiles, etc. Full 60″ x 120″ boards up to 1.5″ thick can be fed through with rapid productivity per unit. Image quality is delivered at a crisp 600 dpi with CMYK, plus white. Durst was the first UV cure printer manufacturer to offer white ink and Adage Graphics believes it has the most productive and reliable white in the industry.

All the inks used by the DURST, including white, are VOC-free. That means that they do not contain volatile organic compounds such as hydrocarbons, ketones, or formaldehyde. In other words, they are safe for the environment. By printing the inks directly onto a substrate, instead of onto paper which is then adhered to the substrate, the amount of media used is reduced. Production time is also reduced so more units can be turned around in less time, further reducing costs.

With DURST’s white ink capabilities, colored boards can be directly spot-printed with spectacular results. This opens up creative options for visual marketing designers to go beyond typical solid cut vinyl vector graphics on colored substrate surfaces. Applied ink can either mask the board or allow its color to become integrated into the overall image.

“We’re excited about the business development that can come from such environmentally friendly technology,” exclaimed Christian. “This new printer has the ability to make incredible visual marketing products greener, faster and for a lot less money. In terms of what customers are looking for in a large format printer? high quality imaging that is VOC-free, the DURST hits it out of the ballpark.”

Adage Graphics has been a large format digital printing company for over twenty years in the Southern California area. As members of the Printing Industry Association of Southern California, they serve clients in the restaurant, retail, automotive, creative and entertainment industries across the United States by creating point of purchase graphics, trade show displays, brand marketing, signage and custom visual marketing printed products. Success of Family Business No Small Feat For Tiny Vinyl Cutter

(PRWEB) June 23, 2000

Irvine, CA – June 12, 2000 – Randy Simkins of Toronto, Ontario, Canada initially bought an eight-inch vinyl cutter to start a little side business for his wife, but once he and his teenage daughter set up the device and started cutting adhesive backed vinyl that same evening, they were hooked. “The STIKA is the most impressive little machine I think I have ever seen,” Simkins said. “It paid for itself the first month I had it.”

Simkins first saw a Roland STIKA vinyl cutter at a car show in Toronto, ON, Canada. At the time, he was working full-time at Goodyear Canada and producing adhesive backed vinyl letters and graphic designs by hand for his own racecars as a hobby. He still works full-time at Goodyear but spends every spare minute cutting vinyl on his STIKA and making signs. As he said, it’s developed into quite a profitable little business.

“The STIKA is so easy to use that everyone in the family is involved in cutting vinyl and putting together signs,” Simkins continued. Using “Print Master Gold” clip art software and the Windows(R) driver that came with the STIKA, the Simkins have created graphics for everything from a rugged military Humvee to a beautiful monarch butterfly – all in adhesive backed vinyl cut with their STIKA.

Most of their signs fall in the 6’ x 8’ and smaller range, and have included vehicle lettering, racecars, boats, bikes and signs for businesses such as snowmobile trails, golf courses, banks, Christmas signs with custom fonts and even an 8’ x 10’ billboard. The Simkins’ have also donated signs to a variety of organizations including churches and an area hockey arena.

The Simkins run a low overhead, cost efficient business, wasting very little vinyl on the 8” STIKA STX-7. They buy 15” wide vinyl and cut it exactly in half. “I can fit 3 rows of 2” letters on the cutter with virtually no waste,” adds Simkins. “I can even cut letters as small as 1/8” high.

Simkins specializes in customer service. The family lives out in the country and provides free estimates and delivery. Their customers love it, especially since the nearest city is 45 minutes away. “I find that it helps very much to meet with customers and listen to what they would like to have done,” says Simkins. “Then showing them some samples of my work assures them of a high quality product that they will be satisfied with. I can usually come up with a good idea of what they want, one-to-one.”

Roland DGA Corporation, based in Irvine, California, makes the STIKA in 8″ and 12″ sizes. Roland can be reached at (949) 727-2100. Additional information on STIKA vinyl cutters and other Roland products can be obtained from the Roland Web site at http://www.rolanddga.com.

Cookie Cutter Girl, Pop Superhero, Discovers a Way to Give Your Guitar Super Powers: Scratch Pad CCG’s Holiday CD has Dr. Demento Eating “Ham For The Holidays!”

Boston, MA (PRWEB) November 20, 2006

“Cookie Cutter Girl,” is a Pop Superhero for our times who packs her Girl Power Pop with a punch while freeing women from the mold in which society holds them captive. Rolling Stone called Cookie Cutter Girl’s song, “Pain,” “Nashville’s Version of Fiona Apple.” The Pop Superhero takes her job very seriously. In addition to making great Power Pop music, CCG helps people start a positive energy cycle in their lives by looking deep within themselves and finding their Super Powers. Look for Cookie Cutter Girl in “Music Connection” magazine this Dec. and on the cover of the “Indie Bible” for 2007. Who is *your* Inner Superhero? Find out today at CookieCutterGirl.com.

This Pop Superhero discovered a way to give every guitar a Super Strength … or at least the ability NOT to scratch or ding: Scratch Pad! Scratch Pad, LLC has produced a space-aged material to resolve the problem known to Guitarists as “Belt-Buckle Rash.” Belt-Buckle Rash is actually the result of many factors; snaps, zippers and even the abrasive effects of denim will also result in finish damage. Scratch Pad with Sof-Cling technology is a, NON-ADHESIVE finish protector, which is easily applied, removed and re-applied to another instrument in seconds and lasts for years. Scratch Pad’s multi-layered design shields your instruments from the scratches, dings and impact-divots caused by belt buckles, snaps, pocket rivets. Scratch Pad’s patented “Sof-Cling” technology allows it to cling gently but securely to your instrument WITHOUT the use of adhesives, elastic bands or vinyl films. Scratch Pad is also receiving wide acclaim from Retailers for its ability to protect the value of a Retailer’s new instrument inventory. Customers appreciate Retailers who may then offer a pristine inventory to select from. Scratch Pad has been shaped and sized to accommodate the most vulnerable wear areas of all body styles from the classic Les Pauls, Strats and SGs to Cookie Cutter Girl, Pop Superhero’s, unique favorite: the Minarik “Inferno” with it’s striking flame shaped body. Scratch Pad are also easily custom cut to any body design, or to be used as a removable pick-guard.

Cookie Cutter Girl, Pop Superhero, was commissioned by the “Trouble With Turkey Coalition” and spokesperson, Tommy Turkey, to compose their theme song. They’re seeking alternatives to our holiday feast: typically HIM. Dr. Demento brought “Ham For The Holidays” international attention on his syndicated radio show. CCG’s indie label song was played between big label artists Adam Sandler, Arlo Guthrie & Weird Al Yankovic. Cookie Cutter Girl is an independent musician, who can’t afford a publicist or promoter, yet is attracting national TV producers. The Pop Superhero has been contacted by producers from MTV & Comedy Central, and the TV shows “Who Wants to be a Superhero?,” “Wife Swap,” and “The Tyra Banks Show,” as well as the “Pussycat Dolls.” Who wouldn’t want a Pop Superhero to promote them? Cookie Cutter Girl lends her expert skills to “Power of Pink Promotion,” at PowerofPink.com. CCG recently developed P.O.P. to help Indie artists, like herself, get the recognition they deserve from the music industry. Knowing that Indie musicians are on a tight budget, her promotional packages start at only $ 10. Cookie Cutter Girl’s, self-titled Girl Power Pop CD receives airplay on 500+ TV & radio stations Internationally. Most recently, CCG invaded the Japanese market at: http://www.musicforte.com/japan/lynnjulian. The Pop Superhero is honored to have her music added to 20 different Compilation CDs, most of which were released over the past year. Are you a ‘cookie cutter’ girl, or did you break the mold?
